The college admission process has become increasingly competitive over the last several years. The admission process has been brutally difficult this year (2023) and the number of applications is expected to rise even more in the next few years. Come oin us via zoom to understand the basics of the admissions process!

Speaker Bio:

Raghu Avali has been a Pittsburgh resident for the last 10 years and worked at Westinghouse Electric Company where he managed the delivery of automation for the world’s first AP1000 reactors in China. Subsequently, he worked at Carnegie Mellon University where he managed a large defense contract to modernize warfare using Artificial Intelligence. Currently, he is an independent consultant. He is working on a book on how AI will change the world and its pros and cons. The book will be available on Amazon in the next 8 weeks. His long-term passion is to write an unbiased version of Indian history and he is also working on that.  He has been following the US admissions process over the last 25 years and is a trained college admissions counselor and has counseled several students over the last several years. He has given several presentations about admissions for the Pittsburgh Indian community. He is also working on another book on demystifying the college admissions process in his spare time which is hard to find! He is also an avid photographer and has been practicing Hindu Astrology for the last 40 years.  In his spare time, he volunteers at the SV temple.
