Who We Are
P ittsburgh Tamil Sangam (PTS) is a non-profit organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3), non-political, and with no religious attachment. PTS has been serving the Pittsburgh area since 2012.
PTS was started as a group for like-minded persons to socialize and nurture our culture in Pittsburgh area and spread our traditional values to our future / younger generation.
PTS is governed by two groups of members "Trustees" and the "Board of Officers" the Trustees are mainly involved in the process of policy making and overlooking the activities of the Board of Officers.
The Board of Officers roles and responsibilities are to plan and execute the PTS activities. Board of Officers will serve for a period of 3 years following which a new team is elected into office.
PTS has grown into a strong organization of what it is now. The success behind this organization is that PTS has adapted to changing times and needs of the Tamil community in these 7+ years.
PTS conducts Tamil classes for children in three locations by following American Tamil Association Academy.
Over the successful past years, Pittsburgh Tamil Sangam is promoting and continuation of Tamil language and culture by organizing social and cultural events, celebrating major Tamil festivals, teaching Tamil language to children, participation in and sponsorship of charitable causes.
